I used this flash for party. most of the time it dint give any good result. the built in flash did great job than this one. all the photos except one or two came under exposed. iam very dissapointed because it was a huge investment. i should have tried other like sigma and see how it would have worked.

So I’m just getting started into photography and I own the Sony A300 and just recently bought the flash, It’s amazing! The pictures turn out so much better in quality! Can anyone recommend what kind of batteries to use for it… Like I said I’m a beginner so I’m trying to get the longest battery life possible here with the flash!

I’m brand new to slr photography, but I knew I needed a good flash. Sony seems to have delivered. I have been using this product for over a month, and have found it to be capable of so much. I have only used some of its potential, and that has already been wonderful. To unlock the rest of its potential, though, I feel that I will have to do some serious studying. Having a desired outcome and making it happen is often more a result of trial and error at this point. This is not a simple product, especially compared to your built in flash on a Sony.

This is a kick-ass little strobe that I wish I could use on my other cameras. Being able to take it off the camera and place it anywhere I want in the photo area is well worth the high cost. The quality of my lighting took a huge jump up after I figured out how to use this little gem.

The performance of this unit is OK for a middle-size room.
Had been a Minolta user from the SLR film day and familiar with this special flash mount, but now (maybe due to my worse eyesight?) sometimes I found myself struggled trying to put this flash unit on my A300 (!) while I put the Nikon SB600 flash on my D50 much faster, surprised ?!
The unit looks pretty and lightweight, and amazon price is amazing (199.00 vs 299.00)compared to others on the net.
I stick to Amazon from now on. Thanks, Amazon !
